NOW SELL YOUR SOLAR ENERGY PRODUCED TO THE ELECTRICITY GRID !!

SET UP & ENJOY YOUR PRIVATE ROOFTOP SOLAR POWERPLANT !!

Yes you read that right !!!

In 2015 Government of Pakistan introduced the Net Metering Policy which is an electricity policy for consumers who own or plan to setup a Renewable Energy facility at their premises (Solar Power or Wind Power). Net Metering allows users to produce electricity (using wind and solar) for their own use and supply the excess produce to the national grid setting-off units of electricity consumed during off-peak hours or at times when the production from RE facility is not enough to meet the consumer load. The consumer will either pay reduced utility bill or get paid for access energy exported to the grid, as stated in the contract with the relevant DISCO.

With more than 6MW Solar Power installed with Net Metering in 2 Years, solar users now sell energy during the day and consume energy at night. By the end of the month the solar user will be billed at the balance of Electricity Produced and Electricity Used. In case the users sells more electricity than it consumes, it will get a credit that carries on to the next month from the distribution company (IESCO, LESCO etc.)

Basic Requirements for Installing Net Metering at your Premises
1) Applicant should have 3-Phase Electricity Meter at their premises.
2) Electricity Meter Connection must be on the name of the applicant.
3) Solar consumers can contact us to transform their existing solar systems into NET METERING ENABLED solar systems and starting selling electricity right away.

How much does NET METERING save consumers?
To help clients understand how much they will save from Net Metering we are providing a simple formula to calculate your savings.

Saving Formula: Solar Panels Installed (Watts) x 4 (Units Per Day) x Electricity Unit Rate (Rs.)

Installing 1,000 Watt (250 Watt x 4 pcs) Solar Panels (Tier 1 Brand) will generate consumers an average of 4,000 Watts per day, this equals to savings of 4 electricity Wapda units per day on average.
Similarly installing 10,000 Watt Solar Panels will generate consumers an average of 40,000 Watts per day, this equals to savings of 40 electricity Wapda units per day on average. However Solar Power Generation is likely to increase during summers when we receive ample amount of sunshine.

Lesser bill means lesser taxes on the bill. Not only do Net Metering users enjoy profits on the flat rate of electricity, they also enjoy lower tax on their bills by reducing their bills.

What Solar System Size is suitable for my Home / Office / Industry?

To help us design your optimal solar net metering system, provide us a picture of your electricity bill and we will calculate the total energy used by a premises per year.

To give you a rough idea, first get hold of your electricity bill. Add up the total electricity units consumed per year and divide the total figure by a fixed value of 1450.
For example if your premises uses 7,500 electricity units per year, divide 7,500 / 1450 and the answer 5.2KW is the total power of solar panels power you require on your rooftop to meet your annual energy demands. Users will enjoy a reduction of more than 90% in their annual bills.

To ease your decision making, the table below will give you an idea about your Annual Financial Savings, Return On Investment and Area Required for the Solar System.

Government Regulations

NEPRA, in September 2015, issued its net-metering regulations that allow the DISCOs in Pakistan to purchase excess units of electricity produced by the consumers, and net them off against the units consumed from the grid. Renewable Energy is a long-term power solution. The Solar PV Technology gives access to affordable electricity supply during system life. Residential and commercial customers can switch their electricity load to Renewable Energy (RE) and can slash their power bills. The picture below illustrates the flow of electricity from distribution company (DISCO) to the end-user, who can now install a renewable energy facility and send the excess electricity back to the distribution grid and earn credit for his exports.

NEPRA announced the official National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Alternative & Renewable Energy) Distributed Generation and Net Metering Regulations on September 1, 2015. As per these regulations, any customer of the national grid (having three-phase connection) can avail net-metering facility for small-scale (1kW to 1MW) Renewable Energy installations. In Pakistan, net-metering is the first policy mechanism of the Policy for Development of Renewable Energy for Power Generation 2006, which has been fully implemented.

Section 8.4.2 of the RE Policy provides that subject to technical considerations and without discrimination and upon request by distribution end-users, DISCOs shall enter into a net-metering agreement with qualified end-users, interested in installing the RE system. NEPRA (Alternative & Renewable Energy) Distributed Generation and Net Metering Regulations, 2015 is at Annex I.
